أطلقت أبوظبي yesterday the "Emirates - Finland" dialogue, under the chairmanship of Ambassador Anwar bin Mohammed Qarqas, accompanied by Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Ziyoudi, Minister of Trade and Industry, Sari Castren, Minister of Economic Affairs in Finland, along with a group of senior officials and business leaders from both sides.
According to Ambassador Anwar Qarqas on Twitter, "I participated in Abu Dhabi in a three-round dialogue discussing regional developments and international systems with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who is visiting the country as part of an important economic delegation. The UAE is an active player in the international system, based on its rational approach, and looks at development and dynamic economy to open opportunities for cooperation and partnership."
Minister Thani bin Ahmed Al Ziyoudi emphasized that the enhancement of cooperation between the Emirates and Finland on both government and private sectors can support the industrial transformation and energy efforts in the two countries. He highlighted that the two countries possess an economy based on knowledge and innovation, which enables them to adapt to a rapidly changing global economic environment.
The meeting marked a new step in joint efforts by the two countries to build a partnership capable of keeping pace with the evolving nature of global economies.
"We have paved the way for closer relations between the private sectors in the friend countries, enhancing bilateral trade and capital flows, facilitating knowledge exchange and cooperation, and encouraging more dialogue," Minister Al Ziyoudi added. "The UAE's efforts to strengthen its ties with Finland are rooted in a solid foundation of thriving commerce, as bilateral non-oil trade reached $412.1 million during the first nine months of 2025, up by 48.7% year-on-year and adding around $40 million to last year's total."
