Policing Dissent: The Wrongful Arrests of Animal Rights Activists In May 2023, nine women who identified as animal rights activists were wrongly arrested by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of planning to disrupt King Charles' coronation.
The group's ages ranged from 20 to 64 years old and claimed they had been unfairly targeted due to their association with a non violent workshop organized by Animal Rising.
The workshop, held in a building about five miles from the coronation site, focused on "how to interact positively with the police.
